England footballer Michelle Agyemang, darts player Luke Littler and batswoman Davina Perrin have been named as finalists for the 2025 Young Sports Personality of the Year award.

The trio have been celebrated for their exceptional achievements over the previous year.

Agyemang played a key role in helping the Lionesses win Euro 2025, Littler secured the world title for the first time, and Perrin rose to fame with a unprecedented innings.

Littler claimed this honour in 2024 after his breakthrough year.

The shortlisted athletes were announced live on a widely-listened-to radio show.

The champion will be unveiled on the Sports Personality of the Year show on the 18th of December.

The ceremony will be aired from 7 PM GMT.

The Football Star

Age: 19 Sport: Football

Only 90 days after her international debut, Agyemang played a dramatic and decisive role in England's run to winning the Euros.

She entered the fray to score vital last-gasp goals in both the quarter-final and semi-final.

These match-saving moments led to her being named the best young player at the Euros.

Afterwards, she was awarded the Golden Girl trophy for the best young player in Europe.

She was also shortlisted for the Kopa Trophy for the global standout among U21 women.

Agyemang, who has been on loan at Brighton from Arsenal, suffered an ACL injury in October.

"To be named a finalist for this honour is incredible," said Agyemang. "Thank you to God and I'm thankful for the support I've received from my inner circle and supporters."

The Darts Prodigy

Littler's 2025 began in spectacular fashion as - while still 17 - he became the most youthful world title winner in history.

He secured a comprehensive triumph over Michael van Gerwen in the final.

His follow-up triumph at the World Matchplay made him only the fifth player to complete the prestigious three major tournament wins.

His success continued - his triumph in November's Grand Slam of Darts meant he climbed to world number one for the first time.

At 18, he is the youngest man to do so, smashing the previous record.

"To receive a nomination for this award again is a huge privilege," stated Littler. "Winning last year was a highlight for me and I've had another unbelievable 12 months. I want to continue promoting darts."

The Cricket Sensation

Perrin is one of English cricket's most exciting young talents and rose to fame with an unbelievable and unprecedented innings in August.

Her magnificent 42-ball century in The Hundred is the quickest ever by an English female in T20s.

It also stands as the equal third-quickest women's T20 century in a top-tier competition.

Perrin came in second place in the run-scoring charts and was named PCA Women's Young Player of the Year.

"I'm deeply humbled to be nominated for the Young Sports Star award," expressed Perrin. "It means a great deal. I hope it inspires more young women to get into cricket."
