People have gathered across the country to remember two years since the Hamas-initiated offensive on October 7th, 2023, as talks advanced in Egypt over a resolution to the hostilities in the Gaza Strip.

The assault saw in excess of 1,200 people dead and 251 others abducted away to Gaza as captives. It was the most deadliest day for the Jewish community since the World War II.

Israel answered by launching a military offensive in Gaza which has killed over 67,000 people, as reported by the territory's Hamas-run health ministry. Its statistics are regarded as accurate by the United Nations and other international bodies.

"The aggressive opponents have caused great damage, but they have not broken us," the leader added on Tuesday.

He also pledged to "achieve all the aims of the war: the homecoming of all the captured, the elimination of the Hamas government and the promise that Gaza will never again present a danger to Israel".

Remembrance Gatherings Across Israel

The national leadership delayed formal remembrance events until mid-October - after the conclusion of the festive season - but gatherings still were held across the country on Tuesday.

A memorial ceremony for the relatives of Israelis who died in the Hamas incident was held in the coastal city. Put together by the victims' relatives, it was aired across Israeli TV networks.

Hours earlier, a silent tribute was observed across the country.

Negotiation Talks in Egypt

At the same time, Israeli and Hamas negotiating teams met in the North African tourist destination of the negotiation venue for a second day of third-party negotiations to review the terms of the proposal.

A senior representative knowledgeable about the discussions revealed that an night meeting of indirect talks started at evening in Egypt.

The official explained the earlier meeting finished without concrete outcomes, amid differences over the suggested Israeli retreat arrangements from Gaza and over assurances Hamas wants to make certain Israel does not recommence combat after the first phase of the arrangement.

He added that the negotiations are "tough and have still not achieve any major advancement," but mentioned that mediators are making efforts to narrow the differences between the conflicting groups.

Critical Points in Discussions

  • A permanent halt to fighting
  • The swap of the captives still kept by Hamas for detainees from Gaza
  • The withdrawal of Israeli forces from Gaza
  • Measures for relief supplies distribution
  • Future administration of the region

Civilian Feeling

In Tel Aviv's memorial area that day, 29-year-old a woman - whose family member survived the incident on the Nova music festival, where 378 people were lost their lives and dozens more were abducted by Hamas fighters - explained: "Nowhere feels like home any longer and until each abducted person come back no one will be secure."

"After we see all home returned, we can breathe once more. Then we can start to heal," she concluded.

Near the leader's residence in Jerusalem, people gathered to demonstrate their support for the relatives of the captives. Israel reports forty-eight continue in captivity in Gaza, approximately twenty of whom are thought to be surviving.

Protester one woman remarked: "We must do any agreement necessary for the captives to come back home. But we sincerely need promises that we will be protected."

Research now frequently demonstrate that about 70% of Israelis want the war to end in exchange for the release of the hostages.

Palestinian Situation

At the site of Nova festival, those paying respects gathered to remember the victims.

From there, the noise of aerial bombardments and artillery could be detected just a short distance away in Gaza, where observers indicated the heavy Israeli shelling carried on.

In the urban center, air and artillery strikes were noted in the early hours of that day in the western neighborhood, Rimal and Nasr districts and in the east side district of Sheikh Radwan, as well the settlement to the northwestern area.

"As the evening comes, the dread comes with it," evacuated urban resident Emaan al-Wahidi, whose 17-year-old son was died by an Israeli bombing previously, described.

"My family are terrified of the air strikes. All the night we are lying together, holding each other, particularly my little child who places his face on me all night."

"Continuously we look at the news to see what happened. And I'm afraid that this truce will not be completed and that the conflict will return to us."

Health Situation

The medical facility in the urban area announced it had received the bodies of six people by the afternoon, including several who lost their lives in an Israeli bombing in the south part al-Sabra neighbourhood.

Nasser hospital in the southern urban center of Khan Younis indicated another two fatalities had been transported. One of them was lost his life by Israeli troops while looking for help to the south, medical staff said.

The region's health ministry said twenty-five of the {territ
