Soccer Expert Chris Sutton Takes On Artist Olly Murs in Top Flight Forecasts

The Gunners' 10-game winning run came to an end by Sunderland prior to the international hiatus, but can the Premier League frontrunners bounce back against north London rivals Tottenham this Sunday?

"{I believe like Arsenal are light years ahead of Tottenham currently but Spurs boss Thomas Frank will have a strategy for this game," stated soccer specialist Chris Sutton.

"Frank will attempt to nullify Arsenal, who have not always been at their scintillating finest this campaign - but Mikel Arteta's side typically still find a way to win."

The analyst is forecasting results for all 380 Premier League games this term, versus artificial intelligence, readers and a range of guests.

In week 12, he takes on singer Olly Murs, who is a United fan.

Murs' latest album, the new release, is available on Friday.

Football and Family Experiences

Olly is a talented footballer as well as a accomplished artist and has been a star of multiple charity football matches down the years - but he is not intending a professional comeback as a player.

"{I recently played in a benefit game the other night for a friend of mine," he explained. "The team was trailing 3-1 when I was substituted in the second half, and they proceeded to win 4-3, so you can read into that what you will!

"I still love football, but I hurt my knee a few years ago and it still isn't where I want it to be. I hope I could play more but the uncertainty of the sport means it's too dangerous for me in my profession to do it seriously again.

"Additionally I am 41 now, and we are not everyone is Cristiano Ronaldo, are we!? No, I am very happy not playing football and I am gearing up for the time that my daughter or boy decides to play instead."

Murs and his spouse his partner have two children, their daughter and their son, and he is prepared to follow in his father's footsteps by becoming their manager.

"I won't force football on our children but I've previously told Amelia that if they happen to get the passion for it then I will have to go and get my manager qualifications - and I will probably be coaching their weekend soccer side," he added.

"I observed my nephews play a lot, and I truly got into it, and I clearly was involved with a soccer team for a while too.

"My dad coached with us when I was a child, which is likely where I inherited it. He coached our side for several seasons and had a wonderful time with it. That could be the next step for me as well, and I am excited to it!"

Premier League Predictions

Weekend, 22 November

  • Turf Moor, 12:30 GMT

Chelsea may have to wait a bit longer for their star's return from injury but their attack is now more potent with Pedro and Delap both back fit.

I still think this fixture will be fairly tight, though. Burnley are well organised and their only at Turf Moor defeats so far have been against the Reds and Arsenal.

This suggests a one-all tie to me, but I am in fact going to choose Chelsea to win narrowly for what would be their third consecutive league win in a row.

Sutton's prediction: 1-2

Olly's prediction: The Blues will be too strong. 1-3

Artificial intelligence's prediction: 0-2

  • Vitality Stadium, 15:00 GMT

The Cherries have lost their previous couple matches - albeit both of them were away - but they got thoroughly beaten by Aston Villa last time out which shocked me.

In contrast, West Ham won two in a row before the international break and, although both of those games were at home, they do look strong again.

The Hammers' sole away victory this season came at Forest in the summer, when West Ham manager Nuno was previously Forest manager.

Therefore, what exactly do I go with here - will it be the Hammers continuing their run under Nuno, or Bournemouth responding?

I am going to choose the Cherries, because I think what happened against Aston Villa was a anomaly.

Sutton's forecast: 2-0

The guest's outlook: Bournemouth are performing strongly but the visitors have improved under Nuno. 2-2

The algorithm's pick: 1-1

  • Amex Stadium, 15:00 GMT

Brentford were seen as one of the favourites for relegation before the campaign started, but they have surprised a few people under their manager and are in good form with three in their past four matches.

A family member told me to get Brentford striker Thiago in my Fantasy Football squad a few weeks back and, unfortunately, I ignored the advice.

Thiago will probably find the net again on the weekend but I am still not going to select him or support the away side at Brighton's ground.

The Bees have not had much success on the road this season, and the Seagulls are consistently decent at home. The visitors will try to hit them on the counter-attack but I feel Fabian Hurzeler's team carry much more of a threat.

Sutton's forecast: 2-1

Olly's view: This could be a match where you think there is going to be a lot of goals but it actually turns out to be quite close. 1-1

AI's prediction: 2-1

  • Craven Cottage, 15:00 GMT

It is a huge game for Fulham, who have suffered defeat in five of their past six games.

Fulham have have lots of talent in their squad but it nonetheless seems like they could be sucked into a drop zone battle.

As for the Black Cats, well they are the surprise package of the top flight campaign so far.

The away side's display in the 2-2 draw with the Gunners last time out was excellent. We have not seen any other team disrupt the North London side like that this term, and they were more than a match for them.

The sensible thing would be to support the visitors here, because they are obviously capable of roughing the hosts up too and, the last time they were in west London, they defeated the Blues at the end of last month.

But I am not do that. Rather, I truly need to carry on going against Sunderland with my predictions. I am claiming a lot of credit for their positive results because they clearly love to prove me wrong.

Considering Fulham's at Craven Cottage record, the sole side they have lost to is the league leaders. Their manager's side will be absolutely eager for a good outcome, so I am going to predict they will pick up three points.

Sutton's forecast: 1-0

The guest's prediction: I'm aware Sunderland are doing well and also that Fulham are on a bad run... but they have still been respectable at home this season. 2-0

AI's prediction: 2-0

  • Anfield, 15:00 GMT

It is a hard fixture to call. The Reds have lost seven of their last ten matches in all competitions, but could they be among the teams who profit from the {international break|
