Ex- Doctor Accused of Sexual Assault Charges Against Thirty-Eight Individuals in His Care

Prosecutors report that a former physician now faces charges for carrying out sexual assaults involving thirty-eight individuals who were patients.

The Serious Charges

Nathaniel Spencer from Birmingham is accused of numerous acts of sexual assault – comprising some against children younger than 13 – spanning the period from 2017 and 2021.

A senior prosecutor stated, “Legal teams have worked at length to assist a thorough and intricate investigation, meticulously examining the evidence to establish that there is sufficient evidence to proceed to trial and that it is in the interest of justice.”

Scope of the Police Inquiry

The charges follow what police described as a “complex investigation” into alleged assaults at medical facilities: a hospital in Stoke-on-Trent and a facility in Dudley.

Spencer will appear at the local magistrates' court on January 20th.

List of Offences

Prosecutors said the forty-five sexual offences he is charged with:

  • 15 counts of assault.
  • 17 counts of penetrative assault.
  • 9 counts of assault on a minor under thirteen.
  • Three counts of assault of a child under 13 by penetration.
  • 1 count of attempting to assault by penetration.
