Brian Eno Encourages Public Help to Send Palestinian Solidarity Track to UK Christmas No 1.

A campaign is aiming to launch a Palestinian lullaby to the top of the UK charts. The campaign aims to provide aid to people in Gaza while also highlighting Palestinian cultural expression.

A Chance for Support and an "Chart Upset"

Renowned figure Brian Eno, who performs on the track, stated that the song titled Lullaby represents a moment to show solidarity with Palestinians this festive season. He noted the potential for an unlikely festive coup.

“It would be incredible if that happened, yes,” he commented. “I wouldn't be completely let down if it fails to, festive releases are a unique phenomenon.”

Resilient Spirit of Freedom and Dignity

Palestinian singer Nai Barghouti, who sings on the adaptation of a traditional lullaby called Yamma Mwel El Hawa, explained the song's powerful central theme.

“It occupies a profound significance for countless listeners,” Barghouti shared. “The essence is that I would choose to perish with honor than live a life without freedom. That is the core idea of the song; we desire to exist a life of dignity that we merit as a people.”

Production History and Featured Artists

The song was recorded following a major charity concert held in September. First conceived to be captured during the live event, the rendition was omitted from the lengthy event due to time constraints.

The diverse array of performers appearing on Lullaby features a group of acclaimed names from the scene. All took part in the earlier concert, which successfully generated a substantial amount for charitable causes.

Creation and Launch

Lullaby was produced by a team of producers and composers. The single features a fusion of the heritage language with freshly written English words.

The group managing the initiative have clarified that their objective is to raise as much as possible for a specific fund. These donations will be channeled to projects in Palestine through an established charity.

“We don’t have a rigid aim,” a spokesperson commented. “We aim for whatever we can get. Naturally, the greater the amount, the better. All proceeds are directed out to those in need in Gaza.”

The situation in the area was described as its extreme devastation, with a overwhelming percentage of property reportedly in ruins or severely impacted.

“In that context, a couple of million won't make a massive dent. But I think what truly matters is above all raising awareness for this issue and proving there’s another side to the story.”

The single 'Lullaby' is launching at the end of the week. Additionally, a video of the charity concert will be made available for streaming on a digital service from mid-December.
